I am roboticist, entrepreneur and environmentalist from Chile. I'm currently pursuing a MSc. in Robotics Systems and Control at ETH Zürich in Switzerland.


My passion is finding innovative ways to use robotics and data science for sustainable development. Some of my current projects include robotic river cleanup and hydrogen powered shipping. Given free time, you'll find me at language meetups or doing all types of mountain sports.

    •  Responsible design engineer supporting new product integration on 20-250kW electrical generators
    •  Worked cross-functionally with a global team directly guiding engineers and technical drafters in India and the UK for product testing, improvement, and validation
    •  Used statistical design tools to increase product performance and reliability

    •  Developed a nonlinear controller for Functional Electrical Stimmulation assisted cycling enhancing rehabilitation techniques for people with neurological conditions.

    •  Developed and maintained Aimani Factoring's website, enhancing brand awareness and assisting with company expansion.
    •  Proposed a market differentiation campaign through environmental solutions within the financial sector in Chile with a projection of over 1000 trees planted within a period of two years

    •   Led a team of 20 people to develop, construct and test an RC aircraft carrying deployable loads for flying competition
    •   Held seminars on the analysis of flying objects with emphasis on software use such as AVL, XFLR5 and Matlab

    •   Raised and administered USD 10,000 to fund projects in Sierra Leone, Nicaragua, and Peru among other countries
    •   Projects included the construction of a well to provide access to drinking water in Nicaragua, and the construction of water closets for a school in Sierra Leone

    2019. Team: Zero Carbon Ships. ETH Zürich and SBB.

    Proposed a containerized hydrogen storage system for enabling hydrogen powered shipping. The system consist of a series of connected hydrogen tanks that can regulate the flow output for quick replacement and connection. Read more about it here

    Developed an automated zero waste vending system. This consists in reusable containers for goods and supplies, paired with an autonomous delivery, vending, and washing system.

    2019. Offered by the d.school at HPI in Potsdam, Berlin.

    Week-long workshop focused focused on the application of Design Thinking for Teamed Leadership. Worked with project partner Peakon solving the challenge of how to use data based feedback for better leadership.

    2018. Team: RPS Recycling. Organized by TCU, Texas.

    RPS recycling is an initiative to produce 3D printing filaments out of recycled plastic. Presented at the final event of the Values and Ventures competition in Fort Worth, Texas.

    Completed year-long certification program on peer mediation and peaceful conflict resolution offered by the Department of Housing at the University of Florida.

    Course on fundamentals of the Dynamic Programming algorithm.
    Course covers the DPA, Value Iteration, Policy Iteration, Infinite Horizon problems, label correcting algorithms, the Bellman Equation and Shortest Path Problems.

  • Autonomous Mobility on Demand (Duckietown)

    Project based course developing and implementing functionalities of self-driving vehicles.
    Course covers computer vision, path planning, networking, and project management.

 
University of Florida2014-2018

Gainesville, Florida - Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
I wrote my honors thesis in nonlinear control of Functional Electrical Stimulation rehabilitation systems. Published in the American Control Conference in Philadelphia, 2019.

  • Nonlinear Control & Robotics Laboratory

    Project focused on improving rehabilitation methods for people with neurological conditions using Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES).
    Developed an implemented a nonlinear controller for a cycle with decoupled pedals, isolating muscle repair zones.

  • Design Build and Fly team

    Led a team of 18 students working on developing a custom remote controlled plane.
    Attended the international competition twice, placing 3rd in 2017.

 
Semester at Sea 2017

Various, Worldwide - Semester long study program aboard the MV World Odyssey Ship. I attended the Fall 2017 voyage, traveling to 10 countries, including; China, Japan, India, Vietnam, South Africa,and Ghana.
